Q. How did you get involved with PACT in Action?
A. I was at Parkhill Community Center in my neighborhood and one of the ladies there told us about this new program called PACT in Action. They were having an interest meeting to tell us what they were about so I went. I went to the first Youth Advisory Board meeting and I’ve been coming every week since then. I really like working to reduce dating violence.
Q. What do you like to do in your free time?
A. I love watching reality TV shows!
Q. Why do you think dating violence is an important topic?
A. I think it is important because there are people out there who have struggled and been through a lot and they want their voices to be heard.
Q. What is your goal for your work with PACT in Action?
A. Our overall goal is reducing domestic violence 10% by the year 2020, but I would like to see it reduced a little in the next few years. I know domestic violence doesn’t end just like that and it will take time.
Q. What do you think is needed for PACT in Action to be successful?
A. I think we need to spend more time in middle schools because I think that is the age that dating violence starts.
